Samy Ben Jaafar- Chief Executive Officer

Samy is the Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Green Fund. He brings over 20 years of banking, investment and climate finance experience. Prior to joining DGF, Samy was the Senior Director responsible for debt, capital markets and equity investments at the United Nation’s USD 10 Billion Green Climate Fund.

As a banker, Samy worked at Citibank for over a decade. He served as Citi Morocco’s Corporate & Investment Bank Head; also as Asia Pacific & Middle East Corporate Finance Advisory & Investment Finance Director.


Samy’s GCC experience includes six years at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. He served as Head of Financial Institutions & International Wholesale Banking; and later as the Group CEO’s Chief of Staff and Head of Strategy. Samy also worked as Head of Treasury, Capital Markets & Investments at Noor Bank.


Samy served on George Mason University President’s Advisory Board, and managed Citi Senegal’s Corporate Social Responsibility program. He holds an MBA from SFU’s Beedie School of Business and received certification for Corporate Finance Advisory from the UK regulator.
